Last night, a
little witch, dressed in a beautiful black dress, left her house to
go ‘trick or treating’. Her mother screamed out instructions – Don’t be
late...Watch the road for traffic...and so on.
The little
witch joined her friendly black cat and said jovially, “You know, my mother doesn’t have to dress up to be a witch.”
...
A father
dressed as a zombie with blood-stained white clothes walked with his three lovely
daughters.
“Yikes, that’s
a great look!” People compliment him.
“I did the
makeup” says his eldest daughter proudly.
...
A mother
expertly paints the face of her little son to make him Count Dracula.
“More blood,
please, mom” the little Dracula pleads.
...
Late in the
night, the witches, the zombies and the Frankensteins gather with their friends at the Boat Club where the
Noisy Neighbours Band is playing.
The witches
take up the floor and dance to cast a spell.
A glass
crashes....and then another.
The party
begins.
(Although
Halloween has its pagan origins in Scotland, it is widely celebrated in America
and other places in the world. I feel this celebration demystifies horror and
makes it funny. That is probably why children love it.)
