Noah's Story

Last night I was chatting with Noah*, a twenty-something young man, about writing stories.

N:   All my stories are dark and not suitable for children.
I:   And mine are opposite. (An emoji with a wink)
N:  Mine are paranormal. (A tight-lipped emoji)
I:   Still thinking of putting your 'dog with human pets' story in a nice way.
It is marinating in my head for long.
(He had given me a brilliant story idea sometime back.)
N:  This recent experience I had was way worse.
I rescued a cat from a busy street.
I:   I see.
N:  Bike had gone over its hind legs.
I:   Oh dear.
N:  It was right there...scooting in the middle of the road.
I:   Poor thing.
N:  So I pick it up and take it to the vet...he says its a fracture...
cant do anything now, gives a painkiller
Tells me to come next day
People at home dont let me keep the cat home
I:   Is it at the vets?
N:  So I put it in a box
Put sum dry fish in it
I:  Your dog will go crazy
(Noah has a fierce German Shepherd.)
N: And leave it at the fish market for the night
thinking I will take it next day
I:  Oh dear
N: Couldnt sleep at night
I:  Feeling so sorry for it.
N: Got busy next day
    Forgot about the cat
    3 days down the line
    I wake up at 3
    am
Bt i cant move my legs
    At all
Its like i was the cat
I: Omg
N: Just like she couldnt move
    Same happens to me
    With a lot of pain
I somehow managed to move and stand
Each step was bone breaking for me
I'd nvr known so much pain
    Later the next morning
    I go to chk
    On the feline
    Bt she's dead
I:  Omg
    So sad
N: I dont really believe in all this nonsense
    Bt i dont understand it
    As of now
   Or the coincidence
I: Perhaps you to had a connection
   Spiritually
N: Bt thats the thing
    I dont believe in it.
I:  She will bless you.
N: Bt i cnt explain
    Logically
    Y tht happened
I:  You did a good thing for her in her short life
Its better for her to go
    In peace
N: I shouldnt have left her to suffer...
Should have killed her with big rock
I:  If we cannot give life, don't take it.
N: I was asking myself tht
I:  Its her karma. You have nothing to do with it.
N: Its some dumb lady's fault
    Hit and run
I:  If you think about it too much, it will be difficult for her soul to rest.
     Don't blame anybody or anything
N:  I believe in 'Raat gayi, baat gayi
(The night has passed, the matter is closed.)
(I give a Thumbs up sign.)
N: Bt this happening
    Stuck to me
Maybe there are forces we cannot see or understand.
I:  You are made to care for lesser creatures. That's a blessing too.
Not everybody has that kind of sympathy.
N:  Or maybe it was my guilt that crippled me in my sleep.
I:   Stop feeling like that.
Try to do more for them.
N:  And my temporary paralysis was coz of some chemical my mind fabricated.
     Thts my logical explanation
I:   One of our kitties once had her tail bitten.
     Vet took it off completely.
It was painful but she was our favourite.
N:  Unlike ur kitten ...i have an evil k9 fr a best friend
I dont need to worry abt anyone biting her tail.
(N sends a photo of his German Shepherd. Laughing emoji)
I:   (Laughing emoji)
Chal boy, bye, take care you.
(I send him a picture of our cats to cheer him up.)

I:  Minnie and Dobby on the doormat.
We call them 'Dobundle' when they sit like that.
N: Cute!
